Tiler in London
Tiling punishes shortcuts — the eye catches wonky grout lines, uneven cuts and lippage instantly. I mark everything out first, use a levelling system for large-format porcelain and mix grout to the manufacturer's ratio, not by eye.
What's included
- ✓Bathroom walls and floors — full or partial re-tile
- ✓Kitchen splashbacks, worktop upstands
- ✓Porcelain, ceramic, mosaic, natural stone
- ✓Large-format tiles (600x600, 800x800, 1200x600)
- ✓Grouting, re-grouting, silicone seals refreshed
How I work
Bathroom full re-tile: typically 2-4 days including substrate prep. Kitchen splashback: half-day to a day. I'll cut with a wet saw for clean edges on porcelain, drill for taps/pipework without cracking, and silicone all internal corners rather than grouting (grout cracks, silicone flexes).
Frequently asked
Can you re-grout without removing tiles?
Yes — I rake out old grout, clean the joints, re-grout and seal. Much cheaper than full re-tile and transforms a tired bathroom in a day.
Do you lay underfloor heating?
I can lay electric underfloor heating mats under tile. Wet systems (water-based) need a Gas Safe engineer for the manifold connection — I'll tile over once they're installed.
What about natural stone?
Yes — marble, travertine, slate. Different sealing and grouting rules vs ceramic, but the method is the same. I'll advise on sealers and maintenance.
